「わたしって、どのくらい生きられるのかしら？」

ルナの実家のＦＡＱによれば、５年で１０％の劣化だとか・・・。

（これは、シリコン自体の耐久性のハナシですが・・・。）

ta-boさんちのたみこさんは、来日して１年経ったそうだけど。

「わたしは、４ヶ月ちょっとでキズだらけだね。」

ta-boさんに聞いたけど、たみこさんだって、

同じようなもんらしいぞ。

「でも、わたし、レイカちゃんより短命な気がする・・・。」

美人薄命ってか。

どっちが美人かはともかく、

壊れやすさならレイカも負けてないと思うけどなぁ・・・。

『こら！norio！！変なところで引き合いにださないでよぉ！

・・・ま、言ってることはあってるような気がするけど・・・。』

「だけど、レイカちゃんは、部分毎に取り替えがきくし、

いつでも実家に帰って直してもらえるじゃない。」

それは、そうだなぁ。

「わたしは、生まれたウチへは帰れないし、

わたしの傷は、一生消せないもの。」

ま、まあな・・・。

傷を付けたのはオレだし、直せないのもオレだし・・・。

（リアルドールは売り切りです。補修は受け付けていません。）

「わたしきっと、レイカちゃんより先に捨てられちゃうのね。」

おいおい。勝手に決めるなよ。

「わたし、気がついたの。

きっとわたし、ほんの数年でボロボロになっちゃう。

norioにそのつもりはなくても、

その時は、わたしの方からサヨナラを言わなくちゃいけないのね。」

おい、ルナ・・・。

『ルナちゃんの言う通りだね。』

え？

『わたし達はきっと、

norioが死ぬまでなんて、付き合うことはできないのよ。』

なんだよ、レイカまで。

『事実だよ、norio。

わたしは、補修やパーツの交換はできるけど、

わたしのモデルが生産中止になったら、すぐに死んでしまうわ。

間違いなく、あなたより先に・・・。』

んんん・・・・・。

ボクはこれまで、

人形の寿命をマジメ（？）に考えた事がありませんでした。

少なくともレイカは、

いつでも修理に出せるという安心感から、

ボクから手放す事がないかぎり、その命は半永久的なもののように、

勝手に思い込んでいたのです。

でも、冷静に考えれば、

モデルチェンジでパーツの互換性が無くなれば交換はできなくなりますし、

補修するにしても、やがて限界が訪れるでしょう・・・。

ルナについては、

特に今回のケガで、その薄命さを思い知ってしまいました。

もちろん、ガラスケースに入れて鑑賞しているだけなら、

ボクの寿命くらいはもつかもしれませんが、

ラブドールとしての存在意義からすれば、それが彼女達のシアワセとは思えません。

ま、それ以前に、

ボク自身が、鑑賞しているだけでは満足できないんですけど。

さて、人形が事切れる瞬間というのは、誰が決めるのでしょうか？

ボクが決めなきゃいけないんですよね、きっと。

人形を創るのも神の作業の様に感じていましたが、

人形の死を決めるっていうのも、神の仕事ですね。

人形と同じ目線で付き合っている人間には、とても残酷に思える仕事です。

正直、できることなら、他人に決めてもたいたいものです。

・・・とか言いながら、

他人に死を宣告されたとしたら、その人をめちゃくちゃ怨んでしまうに違いないっす。

でも、人形の死って、どうやって決めたら良いのでしょう？

顔が壊れた時？

でも、老朽化していく過程で、いつ、壊れたと判断するのでしょう？

ま、その頃には、

彼女達の方から、もう死なせてくれって、言われてしまいそうです。

そう。

もう、こんな自分を見ないでくれって。

そういう日が、

いずれ訪れることだけは、冷静に受け止めていたいと思います。

たぶん、その方が、『いま』を大切にできそうですから。

・・・なんてのは、なかば言い訳で、

単に、これまでの人形との付き合い方を変えたくないだけなんですが。

レイカ。いつもありがとう。

これからも、できるだけの事をするよ。

バレンタインデーの時の曲は、依頼していなかったのです。

今日、ルナへのプレゼントは用意できませんでした。

でも、

彼女には、約束しました。

できるだけ、キズを付けないように愛することを。

で、ルナのキズについて、補足します。

ＲｅａｌＤｏｌｌは肩より上に腕を上げると、

脇の下が裂けてしまう恐れがあります。

そのため、プルオーバーやハイネックを着せる時にも、

ルナの腕が肩より上にあがらないようにしていました。

（着せ替え方にはコツがありますけど。）

でも、

現実に、ルナの脇の下は裂けてしまいました。

場所は、右腕の脇の下。（左は大丈夫です）

やや背中よりの方が裂けていましたので、

たぶん、腕を前に出した状態でのキズだと思います。

で、気が付きました。

恐らく、バックからしようとして、ルナを四つんばいにさせた為でしょう。

※ちなみにＲｅａｌＤｏｌｌの取説では禁止事項です！！｢え？！｣

（ルナを注文した動機は、そのヒップなんです。許してくれ！＞ルナ）

その状態で、ルナの腰を動かすと、腕が肩より上に上がることも考えられます。

なお、腕を立てないでいると、マツゲを損傷しちゃいます。

ってゆうより、胸の感触が楽しめません・・・。

ああ・・・。

ルナのヒップが好きなのに、やっぱりバックは禁じ手なんだなぁ・・・。

Congratulations on your purchase of an authentic REALdoll. Outlined below is everything you should know to assure the longest possible life for your REALdoll:

CLEANING

Your REALdoll is made of silicone, which is a very resiliant material and will last a long time with proper care. When you first receive your doll you may notice a slight tackiness on its skin. This will lessen over time, but is initially remedied with baby powder. A regular powdering of the doll's skin is suggested to give it a smooth, lifelike feel. This is especially recommended after bathing the doll, which should be done at least once a month when in regular use. Bathing can either be done in an actual bathtub, or in a "sponge bath" fashion. ( Clean your dolls entries after each use with the provided cleaning tool and a mild soap or detergent. See page 2 for instructions on using the cleaning kit. ) Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, as this can damage the silicone. Also, a word of advice: brush the doll's hair regularly, or it will quickly become unmanagable. When cleaning the doll, be as gentle as possible around the pubic hair and eyebrows.

POSITIONING AND STORAGE

The doll's internal skeleton is jointed much like a real human being; However, certain positions are stressful on the joints. NEVER force a limb to bend if you feel a resistance. This is especially important when dressing and undressing the doll, which requires A LOT of patience and care; Take your time! ( We strongly suggest garments that button-up from the front or back, as they are the easiest to put on and remove.) Always remember: the farther away you push a limb from it's original position, the more stress you are putting on the joint and the sillicone bringing the legs up to her chest, for instance ) and you do so at your own risk! In other words, the doll is NOT meant to be put is unusual positions! Try to stay reasonably close to the original position as much as you can. If a joint seems to "lock-up" while positioning, return the limb to the original relaxed position and gently move the joint in another direction. For instance, when trying to position the doll's arms above her head and you bring the arms up sideways, they will stop when pointing straight out. Return to the arms to their original relaxed position and then gently move the arms in a radial motion, swinging forward and up. Note: do not attempt to bring the doll's arms completely above her head, as this is not possible given the position they were sculpted in; Attempting this could result in damage to the silicone or the shoulder joints. Always be as gentle as possible when positioning the doll. Be careful with the doll's fingernails...they can easily come off.

The silicone doll weight as much as a real woman. This weight has a lot of force behind it, which can damage the internal structure if mis-handled. If you were to drop her on the floor, for instance, damage could easily occur within the skeleton. We have made every effort to make the internal structure as strong as materials allow, but please, handle with care. Try to treat the doll as if it were a sleeping woman. As a rule of thumb, TREAT THE DOLL LIKE A VERY EXPENSIVE WORK ART, which is what it is!!

There are certain positions that are not advisable due to the weight factor; Kneeling is not advised due to the stress placed on the knee joints; It is very important that you do not place your doll in this position! Another position that is difficult to attain is "doggie style", as this places considerable pressure on the elbows, shoulders, and knee joints. ( The main problem here is that the limbs cannot hold the doll upright. ) We advise hanging the doll's lower body off an elevanted surface such as a bed or couch, allowing the floor to support the doll's knees and the elevated surface to support the doll's upper body. See our website ( REALDOLL.COM ) for position examples. ( Dolls equipped with the poser skeleton can be placed in a doggy style position, but rest the doll on her elbows rather than her hands. This can still be difficult due to the weight! ) Also, do not attempt to position your doll's arms above her head, as mentioned above. Failure to follow our advice on these positions could result in damage to your doll. To move the doll, always carry her by placing your hands under her armpits. Very important: When not in use, always store the doll in a sitting position, in a SOFTchair, etc. Storing your doll on a hard or textured surface can flatten the silicone or leave a texture on her flesh. Placing a pillow or piece of foam under her thighs. Also, Dark clothing which is dyed with low quality dyes can stain the silicone if the doll is stored with these items on for great periods of time.

As a precaution, wash all dark and vibrant colored clothes before putting them on your doll. Very tight or binding straps left on your doll over an extended period of time can form dents in her flesh, much the way it does on a real person; Unlike a real person's flesh, however, the silicone can lose shape memory. In other words, it's fine to dress your doll in tight straps, etc., but don't store her in these types of clothing for extended periods of time.

DAMAGE AND REPAIR

While it is unlikely that the silicone flesh will tear, it has been known to happen. If a rip occurs, immediately remove any stress from the area to halt the damage. You can repair such tears with CLEAR silicone sealant ( caulking ). Recommended brand is Dow-Corning. To repair a tear, clean the area with rubbing alcohol, and apply the sealant to the damaged area. Close the rip and allow 24 hours for full curing. Take your time and you shouldn't even see any evidence of the damage once repaired.

USE OF THE CLEANING KIT

Included with your Realdoll is a bulb type syringe, sterilizing detergent, and a sponge tool. To clean your doll's entries ( recommended after each use ), fill the squeeze bulb with HOT water, add approximately 10-15 drops of the concentrated detergent, replace nozzle, and shake to disperse soap. Insert the nozzle into the entry and squeeze the bulb to irrigate the area. ( when releasing the bulb you are also drawing the water back in. ) You may want to place a towel under the area when doing this to catch overflow. Once you have squeezed the bulb a few times, remove the nozzle. Empty and refill the bulb with fresh, hot water and repeat to rinse. Allow any excess water to run out, and then use the sponge to soak up any remaining moisture. Special note for cleaning the oral entry: Carefully remove the tongue from the doll's mouth with your fingers; It should come out easily when the mouth is lubricated. Rinse the tongue separately, and replace once the oriface is clean. To ease the tongue back in, use a small amount of fresh lubricant.
